This scene was most compelling to me because it encompasses Pima in the most ways that I could find in such few pictures.
In the close up, I wanted to bring something more than a sign of Pima, but more of a symbol of the time of the year it was. The new semester correlates with fresh school spirit and a sense of a new beginning and a new year with a new positive learning environment.
In the intermediate shot, i chose it because of the action. The student is having some fun in between classes singing some karaoke. It combines this with the man walking away with a paper in his hand going to class, which ties in the extracurricular activities with the academics of the shot quite nicely. This combines the message of a new year and new opportunities, especially new opportunities to have fun at our campus!
The far shot was most difficult because I wanted enough detail but I didn't want to sacrifice the entire environment. I want the audience to be aware that this girl is singing in the cafeteria with a room full of people watching her!
